BEAUTIFUL BEACHES

The beaches we have featured here are patrolled by fully trained Lifeguards, generally from 1st June to 8th September. It's probably worth mentioning the Beach Safety Flag system. Three different flags can be displayed on the beach, namely

No bathing permitted Bathe between these flags
Area reserved for surfboards

So now you know how to stay safe, where can you go?

South Coast beaches include the famous Praa Sands (pictured left) a mile long, south west facing stretch of firm golden sand and Marazion, overlooking St Michael's Mount and very popular as a family beach.

Or why not try Poldhu Cove or Gunwalloe Church Cove on the Lizard Peninsula.

Both of these face west and are quite well sheltered. Ample car parking is available for both.

On the North Coast you could head for Sennen Cove (pictured right) or Hayle, or venture a little further a field to the UK Surfing capital in Newquay.
